All about London to Paris by Eurostar train

Eurostar is an incredible way to travel between London Paris by train. It’s much more convenient as well as pleasurable journey.

Ticket Booking & Printing

Eurostar Check-in & Luggage

In London, Eurostar uses King’s Cross/St. Pancras station. You can arrive 30 – 45 minutes prior to your departure.  The process to check in is very similar to airport check-in processes. Boarding on Eurostar train is called 20 minutes before the departure of the train and there’s a pretty strong gate rush. You can walk in 10 minutes prior to boarding just to avoid rush.

Seating Plan

For Leisure class, the seating is 2 on one side (or 2×2 facing each other at a table) and 1 on one side (again, sharing a table). The seats are very comfortable even though they don’t recline.

Meals

The meal menus are passed before Ebbsfleet International, about 20 minutes south of London. Breakfast is a choice of two (which includes low fat, low salt, kosher, vegetarian, etc). A cheese omelet with chicken and herb sausage and sautéed potatoes, or an organic breakfast fruit load with air dried ham, cheddar and grapes. Both were accompanied with yogurt, bread and pastries, and a container of Tropicana orange juice.

Channel Tunnel

By now the Eurostar train is cruising between 170 mph to 186 mph, and after some time the Eurostar train passes through the Channel Tunnel which is an engineering marvel. Even though its all dark and bit more noisy while traveling in Channel Tunnel  for 20 minutes it’s a great feeling to travel through channel tunnel. When the train comes out of the tunnel the announcements are in French, and then followed by English. The train arrives in arrives in Paris at Gare Du Nord station right on time in 2h 15min.

Travel Experience

Just to summarize, Eurostar London Paris by train is a great way to travel between these cities. Since the airports Heathrow/Gatwick and Charles de Gaulle are some distance away from city centers, as compared to the train stations St. Pancras and Gare du Nord it gives you an ease to travel and reduces your total travel time. The other advantage of traveling by Eurostar is that you don’t have to commute away from cities to get to airport and the Eurostar train stations both have an easy underground/Metro access. Traveling on Eurostar is very comfortable even when the trains are packed. The noise in the Eurostar train is fairly less then compared to traveling on Jet plane and you can call anywhere while you are in your journey.  It’s the most convenient and luxurious way to travel between London and Paris and other destinations.
